ChartGEEK sells current USA Sectional and Terminal Area Charts (TACs) on DVDs. These charts are digitally manipulated so that they can be applied to the surface of the earth and then displayed in Google Earth. Currently the Google Earth product is provided either free or for a fee depending on features desired. Please see Google Earth for more information. (back to top)
What is Google Earth and why do I need it?
You use Google Earth to display and manipulate the charts that we provide. Google Earth is a product provided by Google and is available from their website, http://earth.google.com/. ChartGEEK does not sell Google Earth nor has any relationship with Google whatsoever. Our charts are designed like many other companies products to work with Google Earth. I'm not sure I really want all the charts. Do you sell individual charts?
Yes! You can purchase individual downloadable sectionals and TACs from our Shopping Cart We also provide Complete USA Sectional & TAC charts on a single self-installing DVD (back to top)
Can my computer run ChartGEEK charts?
Most likely yes! But if you have a computer with limited memory or little hard drive space it will be very (very) slow and your experience will suffer. The best way to determine if it will work for you is to download Google Earth and then our FREE demo and try it! (back to top)
If you purchase the complete Pilot set on 1 DVD at $99 you will receive regular emails of new charts available for FREE download! This is better than a subscription! If you would rather, you can always download single charts! If you don't want to download a lot of charts (thats a lot of bandwidth at 50+ megabytes each chart!) you should purchase a COMPLETE DVD $29.95 (no free updates) or our Pilot DVD ($99.95 includes FREE UPDATES) either of which are a complete set of USA Sectionals and TACs on a single self-installing DVD! Does ChartGEEK work off-line? (not connected to the Internet)
YES! ChartGEEK charts work without any Internet connection, however you will only see ground images that have already been cached to your hard drive. All the chart images are self-contained and will show even to their extreme close-up details. (back to top)
Can I use the GPS option and still see my charts when flying?
YES! While you can use ChartGEEK charts in the cockpit and it's a blast! We STRONGLY recommend that you follow FAA FAR / AIM guidelines in being prepared for & during your flight. Be a SAFE PILOT and keep your eyes scanning outside! (back to top)
Why are the chart files on the DVDs and the DEMO download so large?
The files provided by the FAA / NACO are detailed scans of the actual charts and contain a wealth of information that is easily overlooked on the paper versions. At ChartGEEK we have chosen to retain the greatest degree of detail possible so that you can zoom into the charts for views that most pilots simply would not see! (back to top)
How do we know if your charts are accurate and up-to-date?
Each chart is provided with it's complete legend. The legend itself contains the effective dates and expiration time. Simply refer to your recent DVD or downloaded ChartGEEK sectional to see that it is current or that you need to obtain new ones! (back to top)
The images of the Airspaces are amazing! How did you do that?
The airspace 3D overlays are NOT the product of ChartGEEK and are listed as FREE EXTRAS only! ChartGEEK only makes the attachment and loading of the information easier to use and enjoy! Each overlay in the FREE EXTRAS section refers back to it's creator if they chose to place that information in the overlay. (back to top)

HELP! I've downloaded Google Earth and don't know how to use it!
Google Earth is used by thousands who had the same question! There are many tutorials provided as well as a user forum, but we will point you to their main website for how-to's. SEE Google Earth for more information or select Help from the Google Earth menu when running the application.
